Freddy Beach Welcome Back BBQ

The Rover recruiting booth at the Freddy Beach Welcome Back BBQ last Thursday (Sept 8) was a great success! Thanks to everyone who pulled together to make it happen; we only decided to do it that Tuesday and within a couple days we had something amazing.
It was set up like a typical camp-ish setting, where Harry, Emily, Eliot (Rover from England), Adam, Krys and I pioneered/lashed-together tables, served hot chocolate over Coleman stoves, set up a tent, and lit lanterns. On top of that, we had Eliot's crazy low riding bike propped up the table holding our 5th Fredericton banner, and he did some insane standing back-flips. And then we saw a canoe coming through the crowd from the far end of Officer's Square -- John and Krys portaged across the field! John's popcorn creations gathered great crowds with delicious aromas and tag lines such as "come get some free popcorn, and see if I can make it faster than your microwave can!" Some people were tripping out at his techniques, which involved a lightweight pot and stove.
Looking forward to seeing who we can gather together for Rovering this year.
